We are committed to helping guests with additional needs experience a spectacular and memorable visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Blackpool Pleasure Beach re-opens on Saturday 18th March 2023

We have recently made some changes to our policies and procedures regarding accessibility at the Park and how guests apply for additional assistance. Please ensure that you read the below information in full before proceeding with your application.

Important Update For 2023

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is proud to partner with Nimbus Disability, operators of the Access Card scheme, who will now process all Essential Companion and EasyPass applications.

All applications must be completed online, at least 7 days prior to your visit. We are unable to accept any same day applications.

Nimbus Disability will individually assess your needs and determine if you qualify for a free Essential Companion ticket and/or our EasyPass service.

It is really important that we ensure our Essential Companion and EasyPass services remain beneficial for those who simply could not visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach without them. Nimbus Disability have a robust, detailed application process, providing the opportunity to upload supporting documentation along with any information about the assistance you require in order to visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Nimbus Disability will handle all your details safely and securely without Blackpool Pleasure Beach viewing the reason why you require additional assistance.

Please note that having a disability does not mean you will automatically receive either of these services.

Essential companion tickets

An Essential Companion ticket allows an additional person to enter the Park with a paying guest to assist with their visit free of charge. An Essential Companion will be issued with an e-Ticket allowing them full access to the Park and rides.

Following a successful application, an Essential Companion eTicket can be added to an existing online booking prior to a visit.

Please note that an Essential Companion ticket is different to a “Carer” eTicket that we issued in previous seasons. An explanation of this criteria is available on the Nimbus Disability website CLICK HERE

Essential Companion tickets are available for guests with a medical condition or disability, where support is needed that is significant and in excess of what could be reasonably expected of friends / family already accompanying the guest.

We allow one essential companion to accompany a paying guest into the Park who requires their assistance during their visit, subject to eligibility.

If eligible, two people can accompany the paying guest with the appropriate Access Card +2 symbol.

Essential Companions must be over 12 years of age.

Easypass ride access

The EasyPass service is one of our reasonable adjustments for guests who are unable to stand in the main queue line whilst waiting to board a ride, due to medical reasons or disability.

Instead guests are placed in a virtual queue allowing them to wait comfortably before accessing the ride via the EasyPass entrance at their allocated time.

The EasyPass service does not allow immediate and unrestricted access to rides and is not a ‘queue jump’ service.

Guests who wish to reduce their queuing time should instead purchase SpeedyPass alongside each eTicket. VIP SpeedyPass reduces queuing time by 90%. Note – a mobile phone with internet data is required for this service. Click here for full details.

Click HERE for a simple guide to our EasyPass service.

Please be aware, the following rides are not available on the EasyPass service;

  • Avalanche
  • Ghost Train
  • Krusty Krab Order Up

The EasyPass service allows the guest who is unable to queue, plus one other guest to access the rides via the EasyPass entrance. A maximum of 2 additional guests can be added to the EasyPass at a charge of £5 per person, payable on the day at Guest Services.

How To Apply

  • All applications need to be submitted via the Nimbus Disability website.
  • Applications are free of charge for those guests who only wish to register their needs for ONE visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach.  However, if eligible for an Access Card, you will also have the option to upgrade to a full Access Card at a cost of £15. Access Cards are valid for 3 years and can be used at thousands of locations across the UK and beyond, including other Amusement Parks who offer similar forms of assistance.

  • The Nimbus Team will process your application within 72 hours, however, this may take longer during peak times.
  • Once your request has been approved by Nimbus, please forward your confirmation e-mail or a picture of your Access Card (or provide the full name and card number), along with your Pleasure Beach online booking reference (if you have already made a booking), and your intended visit date to: access@pleasurebeachblackpool.com
  • Our Access Team will then respond to your request within 48 hours to advise which services you qualify for and provide further instructions of how to redeem these services.

  • Those eligible for an Essential Companion will have an additional eTicket added to their existing online booking which can be activated, as with the rest of the purchased eTickets, to enter the Park as soon as you arrive.
  • Those eligible for EasyPass will receive further instructions via email to allow them to collect their EasyPass card and wristband from Guest Services once inside the Park.
  • If you already have a full, valid Access Card, please send either a clear photograph of the Access Card, or your Access Card number and full name, along with your Pleasure Beach online booking reference number (if you have already made a booking), or intended visit date, to: access@pleasurebeachblackpool.com
  • Our Access Team will then respond to your request within 48 hours to advise which services you qualify for and provide further instructions of how to redeem these services.

If you are a Season Pass holder for the 2023 season, and you do not have a valid Access Card already, use the link above to apply via Nimbus for either the free validation for Blackpool Pleasure Beach, or the full £15 Access Card option.

Following your application, if eligible, contact access@pleasurebeachblackpool.com with your Season Pass number and a photo of your Access Card – or the full name and card number.

Our Access Team will then confirm via email how you can receive the relevant assistance on each visit to the Park in the 2023 season.

Our staff are no longer able to authorise same day additional assistance requests. Instead, all applications must be made online via the Nimbus Disability website, at least 7 days prior to your visit. Applications are still possible within 7 days, however this provides significantly less time for an application to be reviewed.

There is still a provision for guests to make a same day application via Nimbus Disability, however due to the robust processes in place, and the documentation/supporting information required for an application, this may take up to one hour. Therefore, we strongly recommend applications are submitted in advance in order to avoid delays.

Please note, our staff are unable to review or approve any supporting documentation presented on arrival other than a valid Access Card or a Nimbus approval e-mail for a visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and any such requests will be declined.

All guests entering Blackpool Pleasure Beach – including disabled guests – must purchase either an Adult (12+) or Junior (11 & Under) eTicket to do so. There are no concession prices for disabled guests.

Essential Companions cannot be added during the booking process online currently. If you are eligible for an Essential Companion ticket (there is a +1 symbol on your Access Card), you must purchase tickets online for all other members of your party, then follow the instructions above to provide details of eligibility from Nimbus, and your online booking reference number, to our Access Team via access@pleasurebeachblackpool.com

Once received, the Essential Companion’s eTicket will be added by our team to your existing booking within 48 hours. All eTickets can then be activated ahead of your visit so you can enter the Park via the Main Entrance as soon as you arrive.

Facilities and services

We recognise that some guests require additional assistance from a service animal in order to visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach, therefore, assistance animals and guide dogs are permitted to enter the Park.

However, due to our unique environment, the following requirements apply:

  • Owners must be in control of their animal at all times.
  • The animal must remain on a non-extendable lead whilst inside the Park.
  • The animal cannot be left unattended at any time.
  • Animals are not permitted to enter a ride carriage.
  • Whilst we do not have a designated area for animals to expel waste, we require all animal owners to dispose of any waste immediately.

We reserve the right to request proof of training and to refuse access to untrained animals due to the health and safety risk they pose to both guests and staff.

Please note, due to the nature of our attraction, Blackpool Pleasure Beach has crowded spaces, secure entrances and exits, unusual lighting, noises and smells, special effects and involves interaction with a range of mechanical devices. Please bear this information in mind when planning your visit.

We have a limited number of wheelchairs for hire for use inside the Park.

Wheelchairs can only be obtained in person on the day of your visit from either Ticket Sales or Guest Services.

A refundable deposit of £20 is required, plus a £5 hire charge.

Changing facilities can be found in Nickelodeon Land behind the SpongeBob Splash Bash ride, to the left of the
Nickelodeon Land Shop.

Radar key access is required, however for those guests without a Radar key, a toilet attendant can be summoned by pressing the button outside the changing room. The changing facilities include a fully adapted adult restroom, adult changing bed, hoist (guests should use their own harness) and an emergency assistance alarm.

Bradley and Bella’s Learning Garden, situated underneath the Avalanche ride, is a magical area where children and families can explore, learn about plants and flowers and take some time to relax during the day.
